Vocabulary Verbs
Something I find interesting: English verbs that take specific objects.
Verbs such as "eat" use types of objects, such as "edible things/foodstuffs". But I'm talking about verbs that traditionally use only one or two different objects, even though other objects would make sense logically. Some example verbs that I can think of, and their 'default' objects:
- contemplate - the meaning of life, suicide
- transact - business
- tender - a resignation
Does anyone have any other examples?
