Lately I’ve been thinking about how some skills (usually “hand-eye coordination” skills) are based on an individual’s ability to create an isomorphism. That is, the ability to map one’s body onto something abstract (or at least ‘non-body’).
Something I find interesting: English verbs that take specific objects. Verbs such as “eat” use types of objects, such as “edible things/foodstuffs”. But I’m talking about verbs that traditionally use only one or two different objects, even though other objects would make sense logically.
