Wooly Mammoth
Last night I had a dream:
Someone found fossilized wooly mammoth bones. Based on their placement in the ground with respect to the strata, it was determined that they were millions of years old. Apparently using this information and carbon dating, someone further claimed that this wooly mammoth actually lived to be 1.3 million years old. However, I pointed out that carbon dating can be used to determine when the creature died (and not when it lived). Or something like that.
You can count the rings in the trunk to determine how long it lived.
